Universal Orlando Parks and Resorts Opening June 5!

We are happy to give you some news about Universal Orlando. This is hopefully the beginning of lots more good news to come. šŸ˜‰ Some Florida theme parks presented to the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force today, the major one being Universal. Their motion was approved and now awaits the approval of the governor. We anticipate that to indeed be approved.

Universal Orlando plans to reopen on June 1 and 2, 2020 to team members in order to go over the gradual reopening plan. Then on June 3 and 4 they will open to their Annual Pass holders and invited guests. With hopes to fully open to the public on June 5.

Here is a little of what the reopening will look like:

There will be signage everywhere you go, from parking areas to all around the parks and resorts.

There will be temperature checks for both team members and guests. Masks will be required for both team members and guests. If you do not have one, one will be provided for you. Valet operations will be closed.

Capacity will be managed for park entrance as well as attractions. Social distancing measures will be taken in queue lines, restaurants, and shops. Virtual queues will be expanded while single rider lines will be eliminated. Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance and exit of every attraction, food venue, and shop. Interactive play areas will be closed. Post show meet and greets will be eliminated.

Restaurant menus will be disposable paper menus, mobile food ordering will be implemented at all locations, along with touchless payment via Applepay, Googlepay, or the Universal app. Cash will not be refused, however it will not be encouraged.

We feel like these preparations are reasonable and we are very excited to get back to the parks as soon as possible. Let us know what you think. Join us in conversation in our Facebook group at Family Traveling Tips: Disney and Beyond
