Here at Family Traveling Tips we make a point to support small independently owned businesses. We frequently purchase from Etsy, we allow links to our group members businesses and we mention our personal clients that sell items that we know people are looking for. Each of the four of us live in completely different parts of the United States: Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, and Tennessee. We each shop at our own local stores, order carry out at local restaurants, and visit the farmers market and small town butcher shops. It is important to us that in this trying time in our country small business survives.
As we see small businesses open, restaurants slowly getting ready to open, stores allowing customers to enter, etc. I’m sure you are wondering what you can do to support your community and small business owners.
For the past several months the travel industry has suffered. People are beginning to travel again this summer, but many are not. It’s still scary. I want you to know that travel agents are small businesses too. We are independent. We aren’t paid a salary or hourly wage. We make commission from our vendors when you travel, AFTER you travel. All of our commission was cancelled. Money that we had counted on for the rest of the year. Cancelled the day the US was locked down. So how can you support us?
Well, the good news is it doesn’t cost you a dime!
- You can simply like our business pages. We each have two. One for our personal business and one for Family Traveling Tips. To like those pages you can click through the following links:

2. Please share these pages with your friends. Referrals are the best gifts you could give. Each of us also offer giftcards for referrals so make sure your friend mentions you when they book. You will get something when your friend travels. :)) (and if we forget, remind us. LOL)
3. Subscribe to our blog here, we have great plans for it’s future. You will want to see what is coming soon. 🙂
4. We also have a group you can join if you like to interact with other travelers and ask questions. We have a lot of fun and would love to have you. Follow the link to our Facebook Group here:

5. And last but definitely not least, you can book your next trip with us. It still doesn’t cost you anything!! Most hotel chains, resorts, theme parks, concert tickets (yes, even concert and sports team tickets), we even have access to some homes for those of you that like to do Condos and Beach homes.
Vendors have travel agent commission built into their price, whether you use an agent or not. It’s the same price either way. If you find something you want to book, feel free to just ask “hey, can you book this?” And we’ll let you know if we can or not. We can also look around for options as you give details on what you are looking for. We are here to help you. We are always open to discussing budget and special needs. Communication from you opens up a whole horizon of options, some that you may have never known about or thought about doing. Let us take you on your next adventure! 🙂
