Club Med Sandpiper Bay Activities

Included Activities

When visiting Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie, Florida, there is a long list of activities that are included for guests. If you have always wanted to attend a sleep-away camp that includes unlimited food and drinks, then this is the place for you!

Pools

There are three pools at Club Med Sandpiper Bay. The main pool is a zero entry pool designed for the whole family to enjoy. The resort revolves around this pool, so it is often the busiest of the three. There is a sand area with lounge chairs and covered cabanas. The cabanas are first come first serve and the best way to get one for your family for the day is to lay claim to it on your way to breakfast in the morning. They do get claimed early on in the day. The main resort bar is located next to this pool, so it’s very easy to grab a drink and hang out poolside.

The second pool is the lap pool. This is a deeper swimming pool that tends to be less crowded than the main pool. This pool does have lounge chairs and umbrellas, but no cabanas. The kids clubs are next to this pool, so it’s a good choice for families with little ones that may want to play in the nearby splash pad.

The third pool is the adults only pool. This pool is located on the edge of the resort against the river. It is an infinity pool with it’s own bar. This is the quietest pool of the three and also the farthest from the main hub of the resort. This pool is perfect for adults that want to relax in a quiet area. However, this pool does occasionally open for family movie nights (which are included with your stay), so make sure to check the schedule before heading over.

Sports

One of the things that Club Med is most famous far is the long list of included sports. The most interesting is the trapeze. Guests are able to sign up (24 hours in advance) for 15 minute trapeze lessons with a team of professional trapeze artists. My daughter and her best friend signed up for these lessons and were talking about it for the rest of the trip. The circus team is so friendly and encouraging that even my daughters fear of heights was somewhat overcome to fly on the trapeze.

Along with trapeze, guests have access to an 18-course driving range along with daily free golf lessons, tennis courts and daily free lessons, watersports such as sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding – also with free lessons, multiple beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, yoga sessions, cardio and fitness classes, as well as a full gym.

For an extra fee, longer lessons can be scheduled if a guest desires. There are also motorized water sports, such as jet skiing and fishing excursions, that guests can sign up for at an additional cost.

Other Daily Activities

Along with a fun mini-golf course, there is a daily list of activities. Guests can learn to belly dance, participate in a rousing round of family bingo, watch the GOs compete in a sailboat regatta, or purchase a white Club Med t-shirt to create a groovy tie-dyed souvenir. No matter what your interests are, there is something for everyone. During our visit, COVID-19 measures were in place, so Club Med moved all activities outdoors to help with social distancing. Normally there are indoor as well as outdoor activities that families can participate in. Kids that attend one of the kid’s clubs have their own list of scheduled activities that are designed by the GOs to be age-appropriate.

The activities do not stop when the sun goes down. A DJ or live band is brought in each evening for music and dancing. There are movies under the stars and dance competitions (Club Med has their own version of line dances that they do a couple of times a day).

One activity that takes very little effort to participate in are the themed nights. In the Club Med app, guests can see what the themed nights for their stay will be prior to travel. Each night for dinner, the GOs and guests dress to match the theme of the evening. White night is the one that seemed to have the most participation

I know what you’re thinking…

If you’re anything like me, when you go on vacation the last thing you want to do is be busy all day long (unless it’s at a theme park). What I loved most about Club Med is that there isn’t any pressure to participate in any of the activities or to start and activity and 10 minutes later stop. Club Med is about making their guests happy and relaxed. Our family was able to try out things we otherwise would have never done before. We stepped out of our comfort zones and flew on a trapeze and went kayaking on a river. These are things, that if we had to pay for them individually, we would have never attempted. Since we weren’t worried about wasting money or time, we opened ourselves up to new experiences and made some amazing memories.
